President : Maureen Gaffney
Dr. Maureen Gaffney is the Chairperson of the National Economic and Social Forum (NESF) and the Chair of the national Monitoring Committee of the Programme for Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment and Development. She is a council member of the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) And a member of the Council of the Insurance Ombudsman of Ireland. She is a well known psychologist, broadcaster and writer. She was educated at University College Cork, Trinity College Dublin and the University of Chicago.
Colin Block has been Musical Director and Conductor of the Dublin County Choir since 1980 and through his musical vision and confidence in its members the choir has gained a fine reputation for outstandingly successful performances.Colin studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London and was a member of the RTE Symphony Orchestra. For many years now he has given his full attention to choral work as Director, Teacher and Conductor. He has been conductor of the Cameron Ladies Choir, the North Dublin Choral Union, the Midland Chorale. He is also Musical Director of the Culwick Choral Society. He has written many compositions and arrangements for choirs, operates his own recording studio, and has earned a high reputation as one of Ireland's top musical directors.
John Dexter has been organist and Master of the Choristers in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin since 1977 and has been involved with the Dublin County Choir as Organist and Chorus Master since 1995. John was an Organ Scholar at Oxford University and St. Paul's Cathedral London before coming to Dublin. He was musical Director of the Guinness Choir from 1984 to 1991 and is now Musical Director of the Goethe Choir and is a much respected choral expert and teacher.
Celine Kelly has been accompanist with the Dublin County Choir since 1994, and is accompanist to other choirs and professional singers in solo concert performances.
